As the new term starts we have increased the opportunities to change reading books as children are now progressing well through the pink/red levels.

Our spring timetable is-: Mondays and Tuesdays (2 colour teams each day)
Each child in chosen colour teams is listened to read by the class teacher/ Mrs Keighley or Mrs Slater. Parent feedback is reviewed and further books are selected – appropriate to each child – to make progress. Any reading we do is written in the record book and we send the book home to be read again to you. If a child has forgotten their books we will still listen to them read a book from their reading band and make a note on our records.
Thursday and Friday (2 colour teams each day) – as Monday and Tuesday above.
We will alternate the two colour teams between the Mon/Tues and Thurs/Fri so different children will read first at the start and end of the week.
Please remember that each child has two books each time, a fiction or non-fiction book AND a phonics book so with your support your child will have a possible 6 books each week to develop their learning and understanding.
You will also find a small zipper bag with phase 2 high frequency words for you and your child to practice reading at home. The word cards may be HFW or Tricky words and they will be changed each week as we move across the phases.
