Church Links

Here at school we have very close links with our church of

St Lawrence with St Paul.

A very warm welcome from me, Rev Mike Barton. It’s great to enjoy such strong links with Longridge C.E. Primary School. We are working hard to provide appropriate worship for all age ranges and we would love to see you at one of our Sunday services. Particularly appropriate might be our 10.00am service at St Paul’s.

Monthly Church Service

Our Monthly School Worship in St. Paul’s

  • On the last Friday of each month at 9.15am in St. Paul’s
  • All parents, grandparents and babies welcome
  • Come and congratulate our children who are receiving awards. Keep an eye out for our trophies assembly which celebrates our children’s behaviour and achievements.

Longridge Schools’ Cluster Advent Carol Service

Each year, the children in Year 6 join with other local schools for an afternoon of carols and the Christmas story. The pictures below are of the last time we hosted this celebration in St Paul’s. The theme was, ‘The Real Gifts of Christmas: Hope, Peace, Joy, Wisdom and Love.’

Rev’d Mike’s Visits

Rev’d Mike visits school regularly to see how we are and to help with RE lessons. Here he is visiting Class 3 to speak to them about becoming a Christian. This was part of their RE work, ‘Called By God.’ The children listened to Rev’d Mike talk about his work overseas and asked him some interesting questions.

We have a wonderful team of people from church who perform a Bible Story in school every 2 weeks. This brings Bible stories to life, allows our children to join in as well as highlighting special events in the church’s year.

Confirmation

Each year, our oldest pupils are encouraged to become confirmed and full members of the Church family.  If you would like details of this please contact our vicar or the school office.
